I just ordered my bag of Grandma Lucy's yesterday. I started feeding my 2 little maltese girls orijen. Don't get me wrong I love that food and they did too but after being on the food for about a month both of my girls have started to throw up more frequently and their stools are always pretty soft. I believe it is because of the high protein content in the food. I was going to switch them to Acana which is made by the same company as orijen. I decided I wanted to try the raw diet and this product seemed to fit my lifestyle. I definately don't have time to sit and cook every meal for my little girls. This food is all ready to go just add warm water. I will tho, be adding a pump of Salmon oil to their food for their coats. I can't wait to see how they like it. After alot of research this was the food I decided to go with. I will post an update after I see if my dogs will eat it. I was wanting to see if anyone else has fed their dogs this food. There are not alot of reviews on this food out there. I would love to get some feedback.

It's no secret that I LOVE Blue Buffalo products, and the Wilderness line is no exception... even though I'm not a huge fan of high-protein, grain free foods.

The picture and description for this entry are for the new salmon formula, and my dogs don't really like fish flavors (and many dogs have difficulty digesting fish protein, leading to digestive upset and a fishy or musky body odor), but the ingredients of this food are absolutely top-notch. If your dogs dig fishy flavors, give the red bag of Blue Wilderness a try. If your dogs, like mine, prefer non-fish based foods, Wilderness also comes in a chicken/turkey formula and a duck formula. Packed full of anitoxidants omega fatty acids, and fantastic nutrition, and yet a proven, flavorful food.

This food caused my poor one year old pug to have diarrhea and an upset stomach the entire time he was on it (one week and a half). I wanted to switch from Purina to better, more healthier food when I decided to switch to Blue. When I introduced him to the food, he loved the taste. After two days his stool became very soft and it got progressively worst. After three days he didn't want to eat it anymore and he stayed away from his bowl. I fed him Blue for one and a half weeks to see if his stool would harden and/or get better, but it didn't. Apparently this is a common Blue side effect on many dogs. I did not have a good experience with Blue and recommend that if you try it, start with the smallest bag available and closely monitor your buddy's stool and behavior.

A good, solid dog food that meets my requirements for being a recommendable dog food. No corn, wheat, soy, gluten, or byproducts, and meat as at least two of the first five listed ingredients. Unfortunately, many dogs seem to find Dogswell foods to be unpalateable.
