Roxy has always been a wee bit puzzled about where our 28lb cat Wiley fits into the general scheme of things....You see I decided that just once in my life I would like to have a kitten...( we have always adopted older cats from the shelters!)
Anyway my beloved Sassy treated Wiley as a puppy ...despite him embarrassing her with his cat like behavior...by the time Roxy came along, the roles had changed....Wiley was much older and was OK with another GSD around just as long as she toed the line....
Roxy is the wrinkle in Wiley's perfect world....he is a hunter despite being a spoiled, pampered, gray and white feline dictator...he is heavy but very patient, out in the garden....he stalks his prey...slowly....quietly....methodically....and then suddenly along comes 75 lbs of drooling, happy barking dog... the prey flees... and Wiley's disgust is very obvious .....
well I guess with the cold weather the field mice are looking for a warm place to hang out for the winter....and for once Roxy became Wiley's huntin partner!!!
I foolishly walked by the pair of them together in the front hall and was thinking how sweet... they are getting along..
Next thing I know there is scrambling and I assume that Roxy is annoying the cat...I call her to come to me in the kitchen...which she did immediately so I gave her a cookie to distract her...little did I realize that Roxy had flushed a small mouse and Wiley had it cornered in....where you might ask ....in my freaking shoe....where else....he left the remains and came into the kitchen to claim his own prize...treats were distributed, critters were calm... Hil innocently gets ready for a doctors appointment...last thing she does before heading out the door...yep slips her shoes on...
p.s. Doctor noted slight elevation in BP.....wonder why!!! (0) Be the first to comment |

Barack Obama
"There's new energy to harness, new jobs to be created, new schools to build, and threats to meet, alliances to repair./ The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even in one term. But, America, I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you, we as a people will get there./ There will be setbacks and false starts. There are many who won't agree with every decision or policy I make as president. And we know the government can't solve every problem./ But I will always be honest with you about the challenges we face. I will listen to you, especially when we disagree. And, above all, I will ask you to join in the work of remaking this nation, the only way it's been done in America for 221 years block by block, brick by brick, calloused hand by calloused hand."

Blue Wilderness
It's no secret that I LOVE Blue Buffalo products, and the Wilderness line is no exception... even though I'm not a huge fan of high-protein, grain free foods. The picture and description for this entry are for the new salmon formula, and my dogs don't really like fish flavors (and many dogs have difficulty digesting fish protein, leading to digestive upset and a fishy or musky body odor), but the ingredients of this food are absolutely top-notch. If your dogs dig fishy flavors, give the red bag of Blue Wilderness a try. If your dogs, like mine, prefer non-fish based foods, Wilderness also comes in a chicken/turkey formula and a duck formula. Packed full of anitoxidants omega fatty acids, and fantastic nutrition, and yet a proven, flavorful food.
