We have Puppies! Six little beauties born on October 1, 2006 arrived here on Monday November 6. Little Beauty When Chloe's mom went to Europe to visit her family last summer and left Chloe in the care of her friend, she never thought that her still unspayed puppy was capable to become a mother. She was barely 8 months old. Well, on October 1, Chloe gave birth to 9 puppies. One was born dead or died right after being born... Two more died within the first week. We got a call on October 2, as the owner did not believe that she can raise a litter of puppies in the apartment with her working full time. She wanted me to take the litter right there and then or she was going to take them to the pound. I was able to convince her that at the beginning there should not be much work involved on her part, to allow the mom to do her job and that I will take them as soon as they are able to eat on their own.
Last week Chloe stopped nursing all together and on a bright and sunny Monday two days ago puppies arrived here. Both parents are single breed German Shepherd Dogs, but only one is registered, so puppies will not have the registration papers. Puppies appear to be healthy, feisty and within two days settled here quite well. They will be ready to go to their new homes on the last weekend of November 25/26. They'll have their puppy shots and they will be dewormed and vet checked. An adoption fee for each is $300. Our Adoption process will apply to them as well. Please let us know if you are interested in one of those beauties as soon as possible... at puppies@torontogsdrescue.org
More photos will follow... And yes, apparently Chloe is going for her spay surgery next week. (0) Be the first to comment |

Barack Obama
"There's new energy to harness, new jobs to be created, new schools to build, and threats to meet, alliances to repair./ The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even in one term. But, America, I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you, we as a people will get there./ There will be setbacks and false starts. There are many who won't agree with every decision or policy I make as president. And we know the government can't solve every problem./ But I will always be honest with you about the challenges we face. I will listen to you, especially when we disagree. And, above all, I will ask you to join in the work of remaking this nation, the only way it's been done in America for 221 years block by block, brick by brick, calloused hand by calloused hand."

Blue Wilderness
It's no secret that I LOVE Blue Buffalo products, and the Wilderness line is no exception... even though I'm not a huge fan of high-protein, grain free foods. The picture and description for this entry are for the new salmon formula, and my dogs don't really like fish flavors (and many dogs have difficulty digesting fish protein, leading to digestive upset and a fishy or musky body odor), but the ingredients of this food are absolutely top-notch. If your dogs dig fishy flavors, give the red bag of Blue Wilderness a try. If your dogs, like mine, prefer non-fish based foods, Wilderness also comes in a chicken/turkey formula and a duck formula. Packed full of anitoxidants omega fatty acids, and fantastic nutrition, and yet a proven, flavorful food.
