| Memorial Candles | | There are 33 Memorial Candles lit. Pages: 1 2 3 » | | | Candle lit on: January 25, 2008 | Leah: May 27, 2003 - January 24, 2008
Leah, a beautiful, well trained, fun loving girl, was adopted in September 2007 by Sue Lavalle, owner of Ruff Cuts dog grooming shop through private adoption. Two weeks later 'Leah was doing fantastic. She has adjusted to our pack perfectly... ' After using outdated and inappropriate for German Shepherd Dogs training methods, Leah was ruined in the hands of individuals who refused to seek help with problems they themselves were creating. They also refused to release her for potential rehabilitation, choosing to euthanize Leah. We are so very sorry Leah that we failed to protect you and allowed this terrible adoption to go through in the first place.
| Candle lit on: December 1, 2007 | Our sweet, sweet Max: February 10, 1990 - December1, 2007 Our darling old girl Max, died today, at 4 o'clock, in the arms of the young man that loved her, as she loved him... he was her last sight, and smell, as they both lay on the floor wrapped in his big strong arms, our beloved Max, went to the bridge... I am crying, I knew when he went to school, and asked me to take care of Max, because of the family divorce and his moms non love of dogs, that Max would be neglected, and I reluctantly agreed. She lived at my cottage for 6 months till, her other moms kids wanted her back, because mom, now had A HOME AGAIN, I reluctantly made a decision to share Max, half a week with her, and the other half with me.. Ahmed told me, her last 2 years of life, playing and living at cottage, running in woods, chasing deer, and squirrels, and living and playing with Jack and Annie, were perhaps the best 2 years of her life.. what an amazing little gal she was, in a home where she was just a DOG, except to Ahmed, he was 7 when she arrived into his life, and 25, when he held her for her last breath.. I knew, I just knew I would be devastated when I took in an older gal.. and now I am... Just devastated... My little Maxie, is gone... for all her hardship, and generally being unloved except for one little boy .. she came in to my life unexpectedly, and she has now left a huge hole.. dear Max, you were loved and cherished till your last breath, and your little boy, now a big strong man, didn't let you down... fly and be free my little sweetie, and be whole and happy..... She is being cremated, and will join my heart and soul dog Rudy here at cottage.. the place she loves so much, especially when her boy was here... Ahmed told me, after the lethal dose was administered , and he held her and sobbed, her last breath was to lift her head, and lick his tears way...to the end, she was his, and he hers... this is hard... | Candle lit on: November 2, 2007 | Sarge: ? - October 18, 2007
A wonderful, healthy boy, a stray in the shelter, who would do anything for a ball was killed on October 18, 2007 after suffering abuse from an idiot 'trainer'. What a terrible tragedy! Sarge, your death will not be in vain and that's the promise. You touched at least one human life in a profound way and you made your human friend a better person... she will not forget you and what happened to you and why... R.I.P dear Sarge no one can torment you ever again!

| Candle lit on: September 8, 2007 | Sweet Sam: ? - September 4, 2007
Five years ago this very sweet boy was sneaked out of the back room of the shelter by a caring staff member just before Sam was scheduled to be euthanized. Sam brought a great deal of joy to his mom and was a very special boy. A very special boy, indeed. There will never be another Sam. Enjoy your stay at the Rainbow Bridge sweetie and from there look after Logan and your family who are all missing you very much...
| Candle lit on: June 6, 2007 | Carlie: Carlie, one of our sweet and gentle girls ended her life last New Year's Eve... Her mom kept her going for as long as she could... Carlie became incontinent, she was medicated, and made comfortable with the arthritis in her spine but it finally affected her nerves and walking was very painful for her.. Carlie is missed very, very much... She was loyal and such a gentle soul... even the two aggressive cats I met when I brought her to London loved her and miss her... You had wonderful few years Carlie in a loving home... now it's time to look after your family from above... | |
| Candle lit on: April 1, 2007 | Kodi, special Toader: You were old when you came but that never stopped you. I cant remember ever coming to see you when you didnt jump off that couch and greet me with happy smiles. I will find it hard Toader to walk in the door at Sissy's and not see you lavishing on the love seat with a look that says... I'm special.. LOL.. I wont forget how pushy you were with Ridge and Shady to get up close and personal with 'gramma' (me) ... and how you stood there and soaked in the loving words I had for you. Run, finally free of pain..wait for us because we will be there with you soon. We will all miss you so. Tina | |
| Candle lit on: March 20 | Dakota: My husband and I were very lucky to be chosen by a beautiful German Shepherd that was in foster care. We clicked from the first moment. She brought us love, loyalty and an undying passion for chasing her ball. She was always smiling and talking to us ....a match made in heaven. We had just lost our German Shepherd dog Shadow and decided to look for an older one that needed a home instead of getting a puppy...it was the best thing we ever did. She brought joy to us... for 6 years we loved each other ... words can not express how I feel over the loss of my girl Dakota on March 16th 2007. She got lymphoma and we had to ease her suffering for her... We tried to keep you as long as possible but the quality of your life was degrading daily.... now we suffer and cry and our lives will be forever changed. It seems like such a short time that we had you to love... a short time that will never ever be forgotten. It was the best of times with you and now the worst of times without you. Rest in peace my girl... you were my sunshine and you won our hearts... even the cat's... we will always love you. Teresa Greg and family

We battled Perianal Fistulas for one year and she was diagnosed with cancer in Nov. She loved life and had a beautiful temperament. Look for Elsa & Olga at the Rainbow bridge and wait for me, we'll be reunited some day. Love you Ms Iska!
| Candle lit on: December 19, 2006 | Kaos: Goodbye little Kaos, yes, your life was short but happy... You brought joy into your family and then you broke their hearts by leaving much too early. Now you need to make sure that you look after your people in your own special way from the Rainbow Bridge... And you need to remember that this is what all German Shepherd Dogs do...

| Candle lit on: October 21, 2006 | Saika: My beloved, you were taken from us unexpectedly too soon, May 28 2004. My tears still fall for you and will forever. When your heart stopped beating, part of my heart was taken with you. I often question why I wasn't given the chance to love you longer. So I cherish our memories always my beautiful girl, I love you! Your mommy Kim | |

Barack Obama
"There's new energy to harness, new jobs to be created, new schools to build, and threats to meet, alliances to repair./ The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even in one term. But, America, I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you, we as a people will get there./ There will be setbacks and false starts. There are many who won't agree with every decision or policy I make as president. And we know the government can't solve every problem./ But I will always be honest with you about the challenges we face. I will listen to you, especially when we disagree. And, above all, I will ask you to join in the work of remaking this nation, the only way it's been done in America for 221 years block by block, brick by brick, calloused hand by calloused hand."

Blue Wilderness
It's no secret that I LOVE Blue Buffalo products, and the Wilderness line is no exception... even though I'm not a huge fan of high-protein, grain free foods. The picture and description for this entry are for the new salmon formula, and my dogs don't really like fish flavors (and many dogs have difficulty digesting fish protein, leading to digestive upset and a fishy or musky body odor), but the ingredients of this food are absolutely top-notch. If your dogs dig fishy flavors, give the red bag of Blue Wilderness a try. If your dogs, like mine, prefer non-fish based foods, Wilderness also comes in a chicken/turkey formula and a duck formula. Packed full of anitoxidants omega fatty acids, and fantastic nutrition, and yet a proven, flavorful food.
